The unemployment rate in the euro zone was steady at 8.8 percent in November from the figure for October on a seasonally-adjusted basis, the EU statistics office Eurostat reported on Wednesday.
In the 15 countries of the whole European Union the rate fell to 8.1 percent from 8.2 percent in October.
In November 1999 the rate was 9.6 percent in the euro zone and 8.9 percent in the EU -- BRUSSELS (AFP)
