The sixth edition of the European Festival in Algeria will be opened on May 9 in Ibn Zeydoun Hall, with a concert of the Royal String Quartet. The event’s organizers asserted that this year cultural festival would be dominated by various musical performances, which will be presented in a number of Algerian cities including Tizi Ouzou, Boumerdes, Annaba, Oran and Constantine.
<i>Liberte Algerie</i> reports that the festival will include four concerts of classical music, seven concerts of ethnic music, a spectacle for children, three exhibitions and five jazz performances, and will host a long series of renowned European artists.
