Newly formed agency Custard Communications is targeting events and marketing projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, in what the owners call a new era within the industry.
Speaking at the company’s official launch party at The Fridge venue in Dubai’s Al Quoz industrial area, director Nicola Holmes explained they have won a number of high profile clients in only three months of operation through developing relationships in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and throughout the Gulf.
Holmes says: “Long gone are the days when events, PR and marketing firms could rely upon a feast of exciting projects to come their way in Dubai alone. The market in Dubai is healthy, but much more saturated with agencies than elsewhere, so we have been developing business across the UAE and other GCC countries.
“Across the communications industry, the prevalence of Blackberries and Wi-fi has negated the need to be stuck in an office, which makes mobile working possible. However, working this way has certainly changed our lives at Custard, as our cars have become an extension of our homes, complete with clothes, pyjamas and a growing selection of toiletries.”
Custard has hit the floor running, already having worked on high profile events, including Artscape Madina on Saadiyat Island, Islamic Embroidery Exhibition and the UFC. The agency has also secured contracts with a number of top pharmaceutical companies who have their regional headquarters in the UAE.
Custard Communications is an integrated communications company with a strong events, PR and marketing pedigree, which was established in January 2010 by three partners, Lesley Fair, Ian Hainey and Nicola Holmes. All partners began their careers in the UK and have worked for various UAE agencies and as consultants over the past five years.
