Exomos, leading regional manufacturer of state of the art submersibles and water craft, is gearing up for the Dubai International Boat Show 2006 to showcase an extended line-up of technologically advanced vessels. Exomos is a member company of Dubai’s Ports, Customs and Free zone Corporation (PCFC) and conceptualizes, designs and manufactures its vessels in the Dubai Jebel Ali Free Zone.  Herve Jaubert, CEO, Exomos, said, “At the Show, Exomos will showcase the SPV, a first of its kind  submersible patrol vessel for police and law enforcement officials, along with its civilian version, The Proteus.” The SPV, a 55 ton submersible patrol vessel powered by three hybrid electric turbine engines and custom jet thrusters, is worth US$ 12 million, while the Proteus costs US$ 5.5 million.  This year, the Exomos line-up includes a high-speed trimaran cruiser that can carry 10 passengers at a speed estimated in excess of 70 knots under the impetus of its twin 1,400 horse power (bhp) turbine engines. A 35-foot carbon fibre hull airboat paired with a 600 bhp ducted turbine engine will also be on show. The unusual ducted air intake results in improved efficiency, furthermore its unusual reverse capability separate it from others in its class. Applications for this boat include law enforcement as well as disaster relief, the air-boats' ability to access even the shallowest waters make it an ideal platform to provide relief in flooded areas, providing a low cost alternative to helicopters.  The Exocet, a two-passenger ground effect hovercraft that reaches an estimated 55 miles per hour will also be included in the Exomos portfolio. The Exocet is based on a design concept that could offer solutions for the future of transportation between regional shores, offshore real estate projects and oil rigs.  Mohammed Amin, Deputy Chief of Operations and Senior Marketing Manager, Exomos said, “Exomos is expanding operations in response to a boost in demand caused by increased law enforcement patrols near the coast, and the surge in offshore real estate projects in Dubai. We are continually making innovative additions to our range of submersibles and water craft. Our vessels, differentiated by ergonomical design supplemented by advanced technological features, are all manufactured and tested in Dubai.”  “We are regular participants at the Dubai International Boat Show, which provides us an excellent platform to showcase our capabilities to visitors and prospective buyers from across the region. This year, we are looking to benefit from maximum exposure during our participation .We will unveil a new line-up of products at the event, including a new marine vessel that is bound to catch everyone’s attention,” concluded Amin.
