Explorer Publishing to host Telling Tales Photography Exhibition in Dubai

Leading Publishers, Explorer Publishing is set to unveil a new photography exhibition ‘Telling Tales’ that will run from April 2 until April 4, 2008. The exhibit will feature works from award-winning photographer Paul Thuysbaert and BBC’s Gulf Correspondent, Julia Wheeler, bringing together a fascinating array of Emirati characters and their stories.

The exhibit will take place at XVA Gallery, one of the most important art galleries in the Middle East and will witness visitors from both the Emirati and Expatriate communities. Some characters included in the book will be attending the launch evening, along with BBC Gulf Correspondent Julia Wheeler, Photographer, Paul Thuysbaert and Explorer Publishing’s Creative Director, Pete Maloney.

Julia Wheeler, BBC Gulf Correspondent comments: “Paul and I are delighted that the Telling Tales exhibition will give more people in Dubai a chance to discover the History of Dubai through the photographs taken and the stories collected.  We were privileged to share the precious memories of some of the Emirates' most distinguished elders.  The response to the book from expatriates and Emiratis has been wonderful.  Telling Tales was an idea that grabbed the attention of people who are contributing daily to a fast-growing city, but who are eager to understand its roots.”

Mitra Khoubrou, Managing Director, XVA and the curator of the exhibition comments: “We are very pleased to collaborate with Explorer Publishing on this unique photography exhibition. ‘Telling Tales’ falls under XVA’s mission to showcase stories and works about the United Arab Emirates. Our partnership wit Explorer Publishing has taken a new dimension and we are honored to pursue our UAE agenda together with this leading publishing house.”
