ALBAWABA - International media reported on Sunday about an explosion that occurred in a car that was part of the Russian ambassador's motorcade in Pakistan.
The landmine-caused explosion took place in the northwest of the nation in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The diplomatic group, which included Russian Ambassador Albert Khorev, managed to flee without suffering any wounds.
"A vehicle in the convoy accompanying Ambassador Khorev hit a landmine while traveling from Mingora to a nearby hotel," the Russian embassy in Islamabad said, confirming the incident. The explosion wounded a number of police officers, but none of the diplomats were hurt.
The explosion occurred when a group of diplomats from many nations—including the Russian envoy—were in the picturesque Swat Valley, which is part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for a seminar on tourist development.
