Iraqi pilot Rasid Mohammad Sadiq was killed during a training mission in the United States on Wednesday when his F-16 crashed in Arizona, AFP reported on Friday, citing officials from Iraq’s defense ministry
A US defense official said the accident occurred during a routine aerial refueling maneuver.
Sadiq was in the final days of his four-year training in the United States when the accident occurred, the US embassy in Baghdad told AFP.
The United States agreed to sell 36 F-16s to Iraq, but the Unites States has yet to deliver the aircraft.
