Egyptian actors Hussein Fahmy, Adel Imam and Safiah El Omari have received honorary awards from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their great humanitarian work as UN goodwill ambassadors.

At a special dinner, held at an unnamed diplomat’s house in Egypt, Ambassador Ahmad Saleh thanked Fahmy for his exceptional work with landmines in the Sinai and Red Sea areas.

Imam, the only absentee, could not make it due to his ongoing comedic play, Bodyguard

Meanwhile, Fahmy talked about the development of the area, his experience with the mines, and his visit to Jordan for the support of the handicapped ‘who changed a desert to an oasis.’

Organizer of UN local development in Egypt, Edmond Cane, emphasized the importance of Goodwill Ambassadors.

Fahmy handles development of the area whilst Imam handles refugee issues, and Omari deals with housing issues-Albawaba.com.
