FedEx Express, a division of FedEx Corp. (FDX: NYSE), the world’s largest transportation company, today announced the appointment of Jacques Creeten as Managing Director - Sales and Marketing, Middle East, Indian Sub-Continent and Africa (MEIA). During his 20 year career with FedEx, Creeten has been responsible for launching several of the company’s most innovative and successful projects, winning a number of FedEx awards along the way.

Born in Belgium, Creeten acquired a degree in law from the State University of Ghent before pursuing further studies in Economics at the Catholic University in Belgium. Beginning his career with FedEx in 1985 as a Hub Handler in Brussels, Creeten rose rapidly through the company’s ranks from Hub Handler to Manager, to Senior Manager Operations and then onto various other senior positions across the world. Winner of FedEx’s 5-star award in 2002, Creeten’s global experiences with FedEx have taken him through Europe, the Middle East and India. In his most recent post as a Managing Director - Indian Subcontinent, Jacques Creeten significantly contributed to the success of FedEx in the Indian Subcontinent market.

In 2002, Creeten was responsible for the successful launch of FedEx Direct Served Operations in India, which allowed FedEx to expand its network and reach more of its customers. He also led the flawless transition to Prakash Air Freight, FedEx’s Global Service Provider (GSP) in India. Creeten also placed FedEx at the number one position as the Best Place to Work in 2004, moving it up from 2nd place in 2003, according to a survey conducted by Business Week magazine.
