Festive celebration marks Nike’s presence in Jordan
“What a better way to end a busy week
than with a free exercise session”
This was the Sportswear Giant’s invitation, to all friends, to experience an outdoor workout session in the middle of Sweifieh Street, near the new Nike store.
In a festive atmosphere full of lighting music, live dance and sports, NIKE celebrated the re-opening of its new store in Jordan. VIPs, journalists, members of the Jordanian Basketball team and a long list of Jordanian athletes were invited to Al Wakalat Street in front of the new NIKE store.
Crowds gathered to watch Elie Attieh and Patsy, professional and renowned Lebanese sports instructors flown in for the occasion, as they demonstrated live Tae Bo and Hip Hop classes.
As mentioned by Ms. Christine Harb, Marketing manager, NIKE Lebanon & Jordan, "Taking this step was to affirm NIKE's will & insistence to encourage Jordanians to take part in the event and celebrate sports".
For the first time in Jordan, such an event took place, creating Buzz and Hype among passengers and shoppers. As commented by Mr. Fadi Barghouti, Finance Manager of Nike Jordan, “We have always seen big sporty events done by Nike in the world. We thought that it was time to offer this quality of events to the Jordanian population who have always embraced, supported and mostly loved Nike’s Brand. Today, on behalf of Nike’s Team, we are pleased to present this outdoor exercise session. The Hashemite Kingdom should keep a closer eye on their favorite Brand because more of Nike is to be seen.”
USL and Al Qariah, exclusive distributors for NIKE in Lebanon and Jordan, announced expansion plans within Jordan that would include the opening of several other stores in the near future.
