ALBAWABA - Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced early Wednesday morning that a drone attack targeted a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, causing a fire.

DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi said, "According to initial reports, the damage is limited to property; there were no fatalities." An unconfirmed video showing a fire in Kuwait was posted on social media.

Moreover, the Saudi Civil Defense said shrapnel from intercepting a ballistic missile fell on the roofs of two houses in the Eastern Region, with no injuries

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti National Guard confirmed that its air defenses intercepted and shot down five drones at an unspecified location.

Fuel depots at Kuwait International Airport were previously targeted by drones on March 8, Al Jazeera reported Wednesday. A week prior, a drone crashed into a passenger terminal, causing minor injuries and property damage.

On the other hand, the Kuwaiti army announced in separate statements on Tuesday that it had intercepted 17 missiles and 13 drones during the past 24 hours, causing damage to power lines, which went out of service in the country, in addition to fires in oil facilities.
