A fire broke inside the San Donato tunnel on the Rome-Florence motorway after a bus and car collided Tuesday, the Italian news agency ANSA reported.
It said thick smoke had engulfed the tunnel and it was not immediately known if there were any victims.
Traffic was halted in both directions along the motorway, it added -- ROME (AFP)
