At least 19 cars were gutted in a fire in the car park of the women's section at Sharjah University on Sunday morning, according to the police.
The fire started in one of the cars at about 11am before spread to other vechiles parked nearby.
Firefighters controlled the blaze and prevented the fire from spreading to other cars in the parking area, said Brigadier Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence. There were no injuries.
