ALBAWABA - Al Jazeera reports that Israeli airstrikes on Hodeidah, western Yemen, have killed and injured multiple people. Attack is reportedly revenge for a Houthi drone hit on Tel Aviv.
Houthi-affiliated media said that the attacks targeted oil processing facilities at Hodeidah port. Israel attacked and set fire to the major port, according to the Deputy Head of the Media Authority for Ansar Allah.
The Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah television station reported deaths and injuries from Israeli attacks on port oil storage facilities. Yemeni activists posted video from the blasted location in Hodeidah showing a massive fire at port fuel tanks.
The Hodeidah incident follows a Friday drone strike in Tel Aviv that killed one Israeli and wounded eleven. The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported a drone accident near the US Embassy. Yahya Saree, Houthi military spokesman, claimed this attack, saying their "Yafa drone" is radar-invisible. Saree further said the Houthis would continue to assault locations in occupied Palestine, tying them to Israeli aggression on Gaza.
The Houthis have been attacking Israeli-linked cargo ships with missiles and drones to help Gaza, which is under Israeli attack with American support. These assaults have occurred in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean, and Mediterranean Sea.
In response to Red Sea raids, a US-led coalition has been bombing Houthi locations throughout Yemen since early this year. The Houthis have reacted against these attacks. The Houthis labeled all American and British ships military targets in January in reaction to Washington and London's heightened involvement, escalating tensions.
