Store shelves have been cleared of fireworks, guns that shoot plastic bullets and other harmful children's toys, according to a municipal official.
Gulf News daily reports that the licensing and security section of the Administrative and Legal Affairs division, is distributing photos of harmful games to toy-shop owners that must be removed from the shelves. Those who have been caught selling banned products have been fined and have had the goods confiscated. Most shop owners, however, are cooperating with the ban.
Rashid Al Ghazzal, the division's assistant director will continue to inspect shops and said that those who try to create a black market for fireworks by selling from homes or street kiosks would faced tough penalties. Those with information on sales of banned products should call 06-508-0274.
