Biggest Prize Ever Offered In UAE Credit Card Promotion
First Gulf Bank (FGB), one of the UAE's leading financial institutions based in Abu Dhabi, has presented Gigi Matthews (pictured), a lucky Dubai resident, with the keys to a brand new AED 2 million, three-bedroom apartment in the upscale Jumeirah Beach Residence.
Instigated to coincide with the bank’s credit card launch in 2002, the handing over of the luxury apartment signals the conclusion of the promotion, which was open to all FGB credit card holders.
“This is the first time I have ever won a competition and it’s the biggest win of my life - second only to winning the hand of my lovely wife, Deeta. I am thankful for this blessing,” said Matthews.
This is the first time in the UAE that a prize of this nature has been awarded through a credit card promotion and winner Matthews, 42, couldn’t contain his excitement as he picked up the keys to his new home from Girish Advani, Head of Marketing, Credit Cards, First Gulf Bank.
“We made this promise at the launch of the FGB credit card in 2002 to all our customers and the handing over of this stunning apartment is the culmination of this commitment,” said Advani.
“The bank is dedicated to living up to its pledge to customers, ensuring that the entire banking experience is rewarding and helps people to aspire and achieve their dreams. Putting a smile on our customers’ faces is all part of our day-to-day obligation. We wish Gigi all the best in his new life.”
Married and a father of two daughters - Anika aged 12, and Alka aged 9 - Matthews has been a hard working and dedicated resident in the UAE since 1991 and an FGB credit card holder since its inception.
The move is sure to be a big one for Gigi, who plans on remaining in the emirate for a long time to come. After 16 years working in Dubai, currently as a Project Manager for Emirates Airlines, Gigi feels this has become his home-away-from-home.
“I remember the day when I received the phone call from First Gulf Bank and was informed of my win. I was speechless. When it finally sank in, I phoned up my wife and daughters and told them the news – they thought I was joking,” said Matthews.
“We cannot wait to move in to our new home and spend countless days and evenings on the beach. I am thankful to FGB for making my dreams come true and providing something to my family that was previously unimaginable.”
