Latifa, Warda, Hisham Abbas, Mohammad Munir and Samira Saeed have signed a deal with France’s Universal for Production in Paris, to produce 5 French language albums, with 8 songs each, reported Al Ittihad newspaper.
Each singer will be given complete artistic freedom; However, the songs will be translated and performed in both languages.
The novel move comes in light of France Television’s efforts to attract its satellite television market; especially the French speaking population in Africa and Asia.
Meanwhile, Al Ittihad added that most of the songs will be immediately produced as music videos.
The move has been met with an enthusiastic response.
Various French language television stations have voiced their readiness to buy such music videos.
Meanwhile, Universal is hoping that it will be able to convince other singers such as Kathem El Saher, Ragheb Alameh, Walid Tawfiq, Diana Haddad, Majida Al Roumi, Mayada Al Hinnawi and Asala to join – Albawaba.com.
