Hamas on Wednesday said two of its fighters have been killed in a blast in the southern Gaza Strip. The movement conveyed the men were killed on a "Jihad mission." The Israeli military said gunners fired at least 15 mortars and rockets at southern Israeli border communities overnight and early Wednesday.
Earlier, Hamas confirmed that three men killed by Israeli forces on the Gaza border late Tuesday belonged to the group. The Israeli army said the three Palestinians were laying explosives near the fence between Israel and the Gaza Strip. During an exchange of fire, the Palestinians also hurled a grenade at the soldiers, the Israeli side reported.
