At least five sleeping villagers were killed and several injured after massive landlsides triggered by heavy rains and snow flattened their homes in the northern Indian Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, police said Sunday.
Police said the incident occurred late Saturday in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district.
An official said three of the victims were members of the same family and added that several people were still trapped under rubble.
