Five men were killed and others injured during tribal clashes and riots in different areas of Port Sudan following the stabbing to death of a tribal leader.

The unrest broke out Monday after the deputy head of the Beni Amir tribe, Sheikh Mahmoud Mohamed Ali, was killed last weekend by a man from the rival Norab tribe, Akhbar Al Youm reported in its Tuesday edition.

The dead included Sheikh Osman Omar Ali of the Norab tribe, who was fatally wounded in riots in the streets of Port Sudan and at the town's market, the daily said. (Albawaba.com)
