Algeria's main political party is to quit from the government in a dispute over the next presidential election.
The National Liberation Front (FLN) says President Abdelaziz Bouteflika is seeking to stop its leader, Ali Benflis, from challenging him at the vote next year.
The party intends to declare the candidacy of Benflis, a former Bouteflika's ally and a former PM, at a congress on Saturday which has been banned by the government, reports say.
