Strategic Real Estate Advisors (“StratREAL”) has appointed Chase Untermeyer, the former US Ambassador to the State of Qatar, as Vice Chairman and Non Executive Director of StratREAL Asset Management (USA) Inc as well as a Director and Vice Chairman of the StratREAL Foundation USA. 

Chase served as United States ambassador to the State of Qatar between 2004 -2007.  His career to date has also seen him holding key positions in two other US presidential administrations. Under President Reagan, he was executive assistant to the Vice President and assistant secretary of the Navy for manpower and reserve affairs, whilst under the first President Bush, he was director of presidential personnel in the White House and director of the Voice of America.

Chase graduated from Harvard with honors in government in 1968 before serving in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a destroyer officer in the Pacific and as aide to the commander of U.S. naval forces in the Philippines. He began his political career as a reporter for the Houston Chronicle and as a member of the Texas House of Representatives, to which he was elected in 1976 from a district in Houston.
 
In addition to his service in Washington and in Qatar, Chase has been chairman of the Board of Visitors of the United States Naval Academy; a member of the board of National Public Radio; a member of the Houston Port Commission; chairman of the Texas State Board of Education; and vice president for government affairs and professor of public policy at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Chase is married to Diana Cumming Kendrick of Sheridan, Wyoming, whom he met when they were both on the White House staff. They have a daughter, Elly, born in September l993.
