Four people were wounded, one seriously, in the accidental explosion of a car Thursday in the former Israeli-occupied border zone of southern Lebanon, police was quoted by AFP.
But according an initial report by Al Jazeera satellite channel, one was killed in the blast and three wounded.
The explosion occurred at the main square of this mainly Shiite Muslim city of Bent Jbail, they said.
Earlier, police had indicated the blast could have been a car bomb.
According to AFP, the blast occurred in the trunk of a car belonging to Saeed Abdellatif Hashem, who was carrying a butane bottle and detonators that he regularly uses to blow up rocks, according to police preliminary information.
Hashem was seriously injured while three passers-by received moderate wounds, they said.
They were transported immediately to hospital, said the report – Albawaba.com
