A four-year-old Palestinian child was injured in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday by an Israeli military shell. It is not yet clear whether or not the incident was the result of Israeli fire or if the child was playing with an unexploded Israeli rocket shell.
Six Palestinians, including several Hamas members and two Islamic Jihad members, were detained by Israeli troops overnight.
In the West Bank, Palestinians near the city of Qalqilya fired at an Israeli vehicle north of the city, wounding the driver, reported Ynet.
Palestinians also opened fire at Israeli occupation forces in the town of Nablus overnight Tuesday, damaging an army vehicle.
Conflicting reports regarding mysterious blast and ground tremor in Gaza
Meanwhile, Israeli authorities closed the Karni crossing from the Gaza Strip into Israel late Tuesday night after a mysterious explosion was heard, followed by ground tremors in the area.
Israeli troops searched for the source of the explosion after closing the crossing as no source could be found for the blast and no injuries or damages reported.
So far, Israel reportedly suspects that the blast may have come from an underground tunnel dug by Palestinians.
Palestinian sources, however, maintain that the explosion was the result of a suicide bomber.
