French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin is expected to arrive in Tunisia Thursday, leading a high-level delegation for a visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between both countries.

A report by the Tunisian Agency for Foreign Communications said Thursday that the French minister would sign a number of agreements on bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, scientific research and technology.

Other agreements are to be signed in the fields of cultural and art cooperation in addition to developing teaching French in the Tunisian education system, the Kuwait News Agency reported.

On the agenda for de Villepin's talks are "large international and regional questions" and several bilateral matters.

In addition, the report said that Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and President Jacques Chirac had held a telephone conversation on the Iraqi and the Middle East situation earlier this week pointing out to the good relations between the two presidents. (Albawaba.com)
