French nationals were Friday warned by Paris against visiting Jerusalem and its surrounding areas due to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian clashes.
The French foreign office said that until further notice, French nationals should avoid the whole of Jerusalem, especially around sacred sites in the east. The warning also applied to Galilee, Nazareth and Um-el-Fahm in northern Israel, as well as the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
"We recommend taking the greatest care in Jaffa and Haifa, avoiding any gatherings and respecting police road blocks," the French foreign office advised.
The French foreign office has also advised its citizens in Lebanon to check with the French consulate in Beirut before making any travel arrangements in the country – PARIS (AFP)
