France has conducted airstrikes on the IS-controlled city of Raqqa in northern Syria, the French Defence Ministry has confirmed.

A Jihadi command and control centre was hit during the strikes.

The strikes involved ten fighter jets dropping 20 bombs.

"The first target destroyed was used by Daesh as a command post, jihadist recruitment centre and arms and munitions depot. The second held a terrorist training camp," a ministry statement said.
