Ramadan Offer Provides International Minutes and SMS with Hala Top-Ups
Hala customers can connect with friends and family overseas for free this Ramadan, with Qtel providing bonus international call minutes and bonus SMS with every Hala top-up worth QR30 or more.
Starting from Friday 21 August, customers topping up their account will not only get the standard credit bonus that comes with Hala top-ups, they’ll also get bonus international SMS and minutes to use to call their loved ones and share Ramadan greetings.
The number of bonus international minutes provided will rise with the higher value of Hala top-ups, so that customers can get as many as 61 international call minutes to reach out to people anywhere in the world, any time.

Qtel hopes to reach out to everyone in Qatar through this offer, which is one of the widest-ranging in the company’s history.
With the offer, a customer who buys a QR30 top-up will be eligible for five free international SMS, while customers buying QR50 worth of Hala top-up gets five bonus international minutes, as well as the standard 6 percent credit bonus. QR100 and QR200 top-up cards are even better value, offering 11 and 25 bonus international minute talk time respectively.
Customers using direct top-ups worth QR500 get an amazing 61 minutes – more than an hour – of international talk-time. The promotion is available whichever method you use to top-up, including scratch cards, e-vouchers and Self Service Machines as well as Shahry to Hala credit transfer.
The Hala offer complements Qtel’s Shahry Value Packs Ramadan offer, where customers can use their free call minutes on either international or local calls, anywhere in the world, any time. Taken together, over two million mobile customers now have access to free overseas calls as a Ramadan gift from Qtel. This offer starts on Friday 21 August and will continue until the end of October.
Qtel has launched a special Social Campaign for Ramadan, encouraging people to ‘Connect with Kind Words’ during the Holy Month.
The “Connect with Kind Words” campaign looks to encourage people to reach out to friends and family during Ramadan, and the special Hala and Shahry offerings are one of the ways that Qtel is aiming to support this.
