The International Committee for Breaking the Siege of Gaza announced on Sunday the departure of the “Freedom Ship 3” from Gaza in attempt to break the siege on the Gaza Strip.

The “Freedom Ship 3” will be the third humanitarian flotilla to set out from besieged Gaza since Palestinians first began “The Great March of Return” protests along the Gaza-Israel security border on March 30th.

During a conference held at the fishermen’s port in Gaza, Adham Abu Salima, a spokesperson for the International Committee, called upon residents of Gaza to rally on Monday at the port for the farewell of the ship.

Abu Salima said that the ship’s journey will continue from Gaza around the world, to show that this is the only effort left, and that all Gaza has left is to continue its peaceful resistance until the suffering ends and the siege is lifted, because “Gaza deserves a decent life.”

He also condemned Israeli naval forces for the attack on the Freedom Flotilla ship and the detention of its members, as it was approaching the shores of Gaza last week.

He stressed that even if the Freedom Flotilla ships did not reach Gaza, their message reached the whole world, revealing the real face of the Israeli occupation, which does not respect international values, charters or resolutions.

Many attempts have been made throughout the years to draw the public’s attention to the on-going siege of Gaza. From 2008 through 2016, international activists have sailed 31 ships to challenge the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza.
