French Fashion University Esmod starts off with impressive number of new students and courses
Fashion students Start New Academic Year with glory
Students are flocking to French Fashion University Esmod as the 2009-2010 academic year gets under way on January 21st. About 100 students have registered at the university both for the BA Degree 3 years program and available workshops and courses. In addition to the new "ESMOD Dubai Make Up Program Certificate" which will kick off on January 25th, while registration will be still open till mid-February.
Tamara Hostal – French Fashion University Esmod commented: "This year promises to be an excellent year, since enrolment has been very high, on par with previous years. The university has been a leading name in the international fashion industry for more than 160 years and has influenced French fashion throughout the world. As the only fashion university in the Middle East, we are constantly expanding our programs to keep up with new trends and preferences. The courses we have lined up for the new academic year has been carefully selected to reflect high-growth areas in the fashion industry, providing our students with optimum career prospects after graduation.'
On the other hand, students of French Fashion University Esmod had excelled with creativity and emphasize craftsmanship during the Runway Art contest at BurJuman in Dubai last month, were they took top honors in the amateur category awards.
"The 18 finalists for this year’s show were shortlisted from a group of hundreds and had only eight weeks to fit, sew and finalize their designs. The quality of the work played a large part in the judges’ decision. The University has also been a strong presence in prestigious events such as the Dubai International Fashion Week, the Bride Show Dubai, and several cultural exhibitions." Added Mrs. Hostal.
Since Esmod's Middle East campus was opened in 2006, the university's fashion programs have attracted a significant number of designers-in-training. At present, the university has 60 students from over 15 countries. Esmod's students have won several major industry distinctions, including the Swarovski Young Designer of the Year Award and the Swarovski Innovation Award. The University's centerpiece BA Degree and Diploma in Fashion Design and Pattern Drafting, as well as the new make-up workshop, accredited by the French Ministry of Education.
