Ten warplanes have targeted so-called Islamic State's Syrian stronghold of Raqqa for the third consecutive day on Tuesday, France's defence minister said, vowing the campaign against the group would intensify in the coming days.
Earlier US Secretary of State John Kerry said France and the US will step up their efforts to defeat so-called Islamic State in the wake of Friday's terror atrocities in Paris.
Russia has also carried out bombing attacks on the group after its security service confirmed that a "terrorist act" caused a Russian passenger plane to crash in Egypt in October.
ITV News Europe Editor James Mates said the situation is developing "very rapidly both politically and militarily".
"The skies above the Islamic State-held areas in Iraq and Syria are getting very crowded," he said.
