French President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for Covid-19, the presidency said on December 17, 2020, adding he would now self-isolate for the next week. GONZALO FUENTES / POOL / AFP

French President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self-isolating. 

The 42-year-old, who only yesterday greeted the Prime Minister of Portugal, will continue to run the country via video conferencing, the Elysee Palace said.
