The 38th UAE National day came upon the Nation and Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa – Al Aqah Beach celebrated it along with the whole country. UAE flags were placed in front of the resort, while miniature versions were showcased at the reception desks. All employees were wearing flag pins on their uniforms and all over the resort you could see the colours of the flag in the form of balloon arcs and balloons as well as red, white, green and black coloured flower arrangements.

The resort prepared decorations and activities reflecting traditional Arabic hospitality and highlighting the country’s national culture and heritage. A section of the resort was transformed into a “Souk” selling local carpets, jewellery, cupper items and pottery. The traditional tent that was set up in the lobby was particularly attractive to the guests who were taking pictures inside of it. Around the pool area, local women were preparing traditional food like “Loukmat” and offering it to the guests. A Henna artist was drawing beautiful designs on the guests’ hands and some women were making traditional artefacts.

Guests of Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa also enjoyed the traditional Arabic meals and desserts which were served on this special occasion at the Arabic corner in Mozaique as well as the Arabic Coffee, sweets and dates that were served in the lobby. The annual cake-cutting ceremony was the highlight of the celebrations. The huge UAE themed cake prepared by Fujairah Rotana’s pastry chefs were shared by all the guests in the lobby.

Commenting on this important occasion, Mrad El Khoury – General Manager of Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa said, “The whole world is fascinated by the progress that has taken place in the United Arab Emirates within such a short period of time, making us proud to witness this development up-close-and-personal. It is always a pleasure to celebrate the UAE National Day at the resort as it is our way of showing our appreciation to the country and to our local guests.”
