GAC appoints industry veterans as new MDs in Abu Dhabi and Thailand

In its latest round of management appointments, the GAC Group has named industry veterans Ronnie Knowles as Managing Director of its operations in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He replaces Mark Delaney who now oversees GAC Thailand.

Ronnie is responsible for the effective and profitable management of National Shipping Gulf Agency Company (NSGAC). He brings to his new role more than 30 years of operational and management experience in the supply chain, logistics and shipping industry.  He has been active in all aspects of project management, business SWOT analysis and strategic planning at a corporate level and has managed and developed multiple 3PL supply chain strategies around the globe.

Prior to this posting, Ronnie spearheaded the development of GAC Pakistan’s business and operational activities for three years. His expertise and previous exposure to the Gulf – which includes an instrumental role as Project Manager for Doha Asian Games in 2006 – will be invaluable in driving NSGAC’s business forward.

Mark Delaney has moved from Abu Dhabi to lead GAC Thailand. His new responsibilities include: ensuring consistently high levels of service quality; identifying and nurturing existing and prospective client relationships; and reinforcing the GAC brand as the preferred shipping and logistics provider in the country.

Mark is a veteran with more than two decades of experience in the international shipping and logistics industry with a strong background in sales, marine operations and customer service. He has spent almost 17 years in the Middle East holding various posts within the GAC Group.
