Greater Amman municipality (GAM) has recently announced that it had granted the citizens more time to settle the building and land tax for the year 2010.
According to the decision, no indemnities are to be levied at 1/1 of every year In accordance with paragraph (A) of provision( 51) of the municipal building and tax law number (11) for the year 1954, and its amendments which stipulate that 10 % of the total amount due before year end be levied. The tax settlement period is to expire by the end of Thursday, i.e.,14/1/2010.
Appreciating the citizens commendable response to settle their dues (building and land tax), especially those who couldn’t do it by 30/12/2009, GAM elected to resort to this grace period extension.
