GAM Names One of Amman Streets after Sherif Zaid Ibn Ali

 Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) decided to name one of Amman streets after the name of the martyr Sherif Ali Ibn Zaid.

During the session presided over by the Mayor, the Municipality Council approved the Council members code of conduct, and formulated a committee to study the proposed draft and to enter the necessary amendments that should render it as a final draft.

The Mayor of Amman, Omar Maani, unveiled, during the aforementioned session, that GAM employee code of conduct is underway to arrange for presenting the code during future meeting comprising executive managers and department directors with their employees to have them sign the code.

Maani and the council members were briefed on the outcome of Prime Minister’s visit to GAM.

GAM council members have ratified on the decision that Kuwait Transport and Warehousing Group (KTWG) Co. as a major partner and investor in Al Motakamela Co., with 51%, by way of raising the capital of the group to reach 30.000.000 JD.  It is worth noting that KTWG shall invest around 50 million dinars over the coming years to upgrade and modernize the company. This decision was taken by majority vote.

Mayor of Amman reiterated GAM’s intention to sell its share in Al Motakamela Co. when the conditions are right for that, referring to the importance of GAM’s being a legislator and organizer of public transport and not a partner of whoever renders the service.

Maani, upon the approval of the council members on issuing the alternation order number 3 for the tender of Shmeisani intersection execution project , said that GAM has saved on Shmeisani intersection, and Arafat mountain (on the airport road) the sum of 5.5.

The council has also approved the royal initiative Decent House for Decent Living and to exempt it from the construction fees amounting to 222.000 JD.

On another front the council has also approved leasing a piece of land within al Ghbawi dumpsite to Middle East Plastic and Tires Recycling Co. aiming at expediting the execution of processing medical waste by adopting the generating industrial , medical treatment mode. In this context, Maani stressed the medical and Hygiene importance of this project for a better service to the city and the medical sector.

The council has also ratified a memorandum of understanding between GAM and Ministry of Public Works, which aims at regulating the relationship between GAM and the Ministry in regard to Amman development corridor financially, technically, and legally. And finally the council has approved a memorandum of understanding between GAM and Zaha Jardaneh Mango Philanthropic Foundation.
