gateProtect today announced its new Z Series of Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliances. The first product in the series is the GPZ-2500, gateProtect’s first UTM solution for the high-end enterprise market. The new security appliance was designed for use in corporate networks and other demanding network environments with several thousand users. In the gateProtect product range, it sets new benchmarks for data security and performance, with the integrated crypto accelerator hardware enabling VPN data throughput of 2.5 gigabits per second. The appliance can be managed centrally via the gateProtect Command Center, which is easy to use while providing a comprehensive overview of network security. gateProtect also announced today that it has redesigned two appliance models, the GPX-800 and the GPX-1000. gateProtect will be showing all the new products on its CeBIT booth (Hall 11, Stand B37) which takes place from 2 to 6 March 2010 in Hanover, Germany.
With its latest UTM product, the GPZ-2500, gateProtect is responding to the exponential growth of both network data traffic and security requirements. The new enterprise appliance is specially designed to meet the security needs of large organisations. In these companies, many existing security architectures are beginning to reach their limits, as they were not designed to cope with extensive staff mobility and large numbers of mobile devices connected to the corporate VPN.
“Unlimited mobility is essential to our customers,” says Dennis Monner, CEO of gateProtect. “They need to allow mobile users to access and share data via high-performance VPNs – but without compromising security. The GPZ-2500 is designed to meet this challenge and provides significantly better performance with top-flight hardware that includes cryptographic accelerator processors. As a result, companies are well protected despite the increasing number of communication channels that can pose a risk to the security of their data.”
