The Islamist Hamas movement accepted a proposal for a three-hour humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza proposed by the International Committee of the Red Cross Sunday, AFP reports.
“The ICRC contacted [Hamas] and offered to broker a three-hour humanitarian truce to enable ambulances to evacuate the dead and wounded and Hamas accepted it,” a spokesperson said Sunday.
According to AFP, the Israeli government is currently studying the proposal.
This potential ceasefire comes as Israel continues to bomb several neighborhoods east of Gaza city. The intensity of Israel’s air strikes has prevented emergency services from entering many areas. Over 350 Palestinians have been killed in the conflict.
