Bombs exploded at two Hamas security compounds in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, causing no casualties, Palestinian sources said. According to Reuters, the attacks took place at the Ansar-2 prison and the Gaza residence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Security sources in Israel denied any involvement. Some sources claimed it was carried out by al Qaeda elements in the Strip. A Hamas security official said that the explosions, which took places within minutes of each other had hurt no one.
Later, Israeli aircraft bombed a building in the Strip on Sunday. The military said it had been used by Palestinians to enter a tunnel and carry out cross-border attacks in Israel. The air strike hurt no one.
Hamas described the target of the Israeli air strike as "open ground".
