Palestinian Gaza militants fire mortal shells into Israel in an open area in the Eshkol region in the western Negev on Sunday.  No damage or injuries reported in incident.

A spokeswoman for the Israeli military told AFP that the shell struck near the border fence with the coastal strip, which is ruled by the Islamist movement Hamas.

The last projectile fired at Israel from Gaza was on September 28.
