GCC’s only third party Pharma logistics company grabs attention of international industry giants at Lake Geneva, France summit

GCC-based pharmaceutical logistics company, Pharma World Holdings (PWH) are in discussions with leading pharmaceutical companies this week in the wake of the NGP Europe Summit held in Lake Geneva, where PWH was headline sponsor.

Maher Kheder, Business Development Group Director, Pharma World Holdings says: “As the only pharmaceutical third party logistics (3PL) company within the Middle East, we attracted interest and have entered into discussion with pharmaceutical giants including GSK, J&J, Bayer, BMS, Novartis and Merck, all of whom of looking to sustain and increase market share in the region.”

The Summit brought the who’s who of the pharmaceutical world under one roof, including 40 leading CEOs, MDs, EVPs and VPs, to discuss and resolve challenges the industry is facing.

PWH to a large extend is solving manufacturers Middle East distribution woes by providing the full gamut of solutions. Their purpose designed IT technology, for one, makes them capable of accepting orders from manufacturers customers directly, process and ship received orders from their warehousing facility, invoice customers on behalf of the manufacturer and advise manufacturers when to order replacement product, while giving customers the option of letting them issue POs on their behalf.

Additionally, the company can handle the return inventory levels and provide outsourcing support for all distribution associated requirements.

He highlights that PWH solution is entirely bespoke. “We are already in serious discussions with US manufacturers Wyeth and Baxter, for who we look forward to offer a complete handling solutions solely focused on specialized medicines requiring cold chain storage.

“We essentially free-up the manufacturer wherever required, allowing them to concentrate on production.”

Pharma World Holdings’ new Dubai-based distribution hub consists of 10 000 square metres of hi-tech warehousing and will be fully operational by the start of 2009, the company is also currently in the process of establishing a warehouse facility at the airport’s free zone.
