Gulf Cooperation Council Defense Ministers began in the Omani capital of Muscat on Monday their 21st meeting.
At the start of the meeting, the Omani minister of defense affairs Badr Alboosaeedi delivered a speech in which he praised the military cooperation amongst GCC countries.
He said that the meeting would review issues aimed at strengthening GCC military cooperation and would work to announce the launching of the joint defense council of the GCC countries, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman bin Hamad Ala'tiyyah, for his part, said during his speech, that the meeting aims at enhancing cooperation, integration and coordination among the member countries' armed forces and their various branches. (Albawaba.com)
