The European Union has asserted that the GCC-European ministerial meeting to be held Monday in Kuwait would discuss the extent of Iraq's adherence to the international resolutions, reported Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Friday.

Current chairman of the EU Manuel Minizes was quoted by the agency as saying that the meeting would be held under the chairmanship of the Saudi foreign minister prince Saud al-Faisal on behalf of the GCC and his Portuguese counterpart Jaime Gama.

Minizes added that the EU urges Iraq “to implement all Security Council resolutions and release all Kuwaiti prisoners of war.”

KUNA added that the ministers would also discuss trade relations in light of the current cooperation agreement between the GCC and the EU, as well as means of fostering conditions and atmospheres of joint investment and cooperation in the fields of customs, energy, environment, trade and media sources - Albawaba.com
