In the past, top-tier firms throughout the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) tended to hire Western educated and, as they saw it, more qualified, foreign candidates in lieu of Gulf nationals.  Recently, however, the number of talented international students studying in the United States has swelled, with the MENA region posting some of the most dramatic increases in American college enrollment.  As GCC members, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, continue to build up their national workforce through education abroad, their citizens will have more and more access to previously elusive private-sector opportunities.
GCC Interns seeks to capitalize on this emerging trend and enable a select group of highly motivated students to get ahead of the curve.  Through the launch of our joint-venture with the S&T Group, a fast developing and dedicated MENA executive search firm, we aim to connect GCC nationals currently studying in America and Europe with elite financial firms operating in their countries of citizenship.  The program will award qualified candidates paid summer internships in fields ranging from asset management, to investment banking and Islamic finance.  All interested parties who meet the following criteria are encouraged to submit their resume in strict confidence:
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Current enrollment at an accredited college in America or Europe; students enrolled at American universities in Beirut, Dubai and Cairo are also eligible
• Current undergraduate status as a sophomore or junior; first year graduate students are also eligible
• Citizenship in one of the GCC member states: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates
