ALBAWABA - Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said in a statement that there is a "Genocide" against Christians in the country, particularly in northern Nigeria, People Gazette reported on Wednesday.
Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the leader of the CAN, is aware of the Nigerian government's effort in ending the killings that target Christians, and called on the government to hand attackers over to the court to achieve justice.
U.S. Republican Senator Ted Cruz accused the Nigerian authorities of being complicit in the attacks against Christians and churches.

"Since 2009, over 50,000 Christians in Nigeria have been massacred, and over 20,000 churches and Christian schools have been destroyed. These atrocities are directly linked to the policies of Nigerian federal and state officials," Cruz wrote on X.
He noted, "The United States knows who those people are, and I intend to hold them accountable."
