ALBAWABA - A report released by the United Nations Commission of Inquiry revealed that Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, adding that top Israeli officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, played a major role in inciting it.

The report that was shared on Tuesday explained that there are reasonable key factors to conclude that four of the five genocidal acts defined under international law were committed in Gaza since October 2023, and they include: "killing members of a group, causing them serious bodily and mental harm, aid blockages, forced displacement, and preventing births," the BBC reported.

"Genocide is occurring in Gaza," Navi Pillay, head of the Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory and a former International Criminal Court judge, said Tuesday.

Navi Pillay added: "The responsibility for these atrocity crimes lies with Israeli authorities at the highest echelons who have orchestrated a genocidal campaign for almost two years now with the specific intent to destroy the Palestinian group in Gaza."

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, at least 64,905 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023.
