He was received at Riyadh airbase by Assistant Foreign Minister Nizar Madani and Germany's ambassador to the kingdom, Harald Kindermann.
AFP added that Fischer was due to hold talks with his Saudi counterpart, Saud Al Faisal.
Fischer will later fly on to Tehran for talks with Iranian President Mohammad Khatami and Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi.
After a stop in Paris on Wednesday for an informal Franco-German summit, Fischer will travel on Thursday to Israel and the Palestinian territories all as part of a major German diplomatic offensive, said the agency - Albawaba.com
