Germany’s printing systems giant Heidelberg will soon open an office in Bahrain, reported the Gulf Daily News on Wednesday.
The 151-year-old German manufacturer of state-of-the-art printing and other allied machines, is establishing its office in Umm Al Hassam as a joint venture between Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG and E A Juffali and Brothers in Saudi Arabia.
The company is establishing the Bahrain office as part of its program to strengthen operations in the Middle East, said Heidelberg Gulf managing director, Joachim Englisch.
"We want to be close to our customers," he told the paper, speaking from his office in Dubai.
"Covering 170 countries worldwide, Heidelberg's Middle East presence is already prominent in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Iraq.
"Our market share in Bahrain and other Gulf countries is more than 80 percent and the company meets the spare part requirements by taking maximum advantage of the growth in printing technology."
Englisch said the company was being supported by more than 25,000 employees.
It manufactures web offset presses, pre-press units, equipment used for cutting, folding and binding applications, and digital printing press and digital copiers.
Bahrain branch manager K K Gopi said the new office would ensure uninterrupted supply of spare parts and service of trained engineers to customers in Bahrain.
"Out of 30 commercial printing presses in Bahrain, more than 80 percent use our equipment," he said.
"We are very keen to undertake turnkey projects and introduce preventive maintenance."
Gopi said the Bahrain office would help clients to have direct access to the machinery supplier, prompt service availability, quick delivery of orders and competitive prices.
"We shall also undertake a campaign to train Bahraini students in printing technology through Heidelberg's Cairo-based Print Media Academy," he revealed – Albawaba.com
