Italian fashion label United Colors of Benetton is brightening up the UAE fashion scene once again with its latest collection - the Spring/Summer 2006 collection for women and children.
This season, Benetton highlights a variety of trends including ‘cigarette’ pants, pencil skirts, pedal pushers, ‘tamed’ or ‘battered’ denims, and gypsy skirts. There is a revamped army collection, and there are ethnic blouses and skirts to choose from. The collection also presents a wide variety of colours ranging from white to indigo, turquoise to lime, and beige to red and brown.
“The main theme throughout the collection is comfort with style. The new range will appeal to the young and frivolous, feminine and glamourous; at the same time it will attract those with a bolder dress sense,” said Ajai Dayal, General Manager, Retail and Marketing, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group – sole distributor of Benetton apparel in the UAE. “It allows for unusual matching, making the clothes unique and individual.”
The new collection is now available at all Benetton outlets in Dubai – Deira City Centre, Mall of Emirates, and Jumeirah Centre in Dubai. The range is also on sale at Abu Dhabi Mall.
The Benetton women’s collection comprises a new line of easy-to-wear and flattering silhouette styles inspired by natural colours: sea blue, earth tones, and tropical hues. It includes a mix of cotton, canvas and suede jackets, linen trench coats, cotton trousers and dresses, and cargo pants.
“By segregating the catalogue according to various colour themes, we allow our customers to zero in on what works for them and easily build a wardrobe of different yet coordinated items,” added Dayal.
The Benetton children’s collection is comfortable and smart in bold and basic colours, including red, blue, yellow, green, orange and pink. Stripes, floral prints, miniskirts, tee-shirts, trousers and funky Bermudas are all part of the new line-up.
Dayal added: “We are impressed with the kids’ range this season. There is a little something for everyone and every occasion. Over 15 new themes for kids alone will have moms and kids coming back for more.”
Young girls have a wide range to choose from, including sailor trousers, mini skirts and dresses in colours like navy and white with touches of coral and bright grass-green. The range covers four distinct styles called Etnico, Cutie Girl, Gypsy Surf and Skate Girl.
For boys, Benetton has introduced six looks each portraying different moods. For the slick city look, young men can choose from polo or yarn-dried shirts and cotton blazers. For a fun day out, the Spring Hockey and Summer Baskets themes offer comfortable track-suits, bright coloured T-shirts, Bermudas and zipped sweatshirts.
Handbags, backpacks, and box bags complement the young and trendy look.
The Benetton Group is present in 120 countries around the world. Its core business is clothing with a strong Italian character.
