The Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) Dubai, the Middle East's leading education exhibition is gearing up for its 2007 edition by bringing an extended line up of exhibitors offering a targeted portfolio of academic courses to students in the region. The 19th edition of the show, being held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from April 11th-14th 2007, will offer a one stop platform showcasing offerings from a diverse spectrum of exhibiting colleges, universities and institutions.

“GETEX’s education segment has always acted as a weather vane for academic trends in the region. This year, we are seeing high representation from courses such as urban planning and environmental sciences, reflecting regional priorities in the face of rapid industrial progress. GETEX’s education segment has established itself as a premier calendar event that brings academic service providers and students looking for topical educational options to the same floor,” said Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, IC&E.

GETEX 2007 will offer a platform for universities, colleges and institutions to present education programmes, education technologies, scholarships and consultancy services for students, parents, educators, professionals, corporate representatives and other stakeholders in the education sector.

“Regional economic diversification is increasing the need for new graduates and experts. As economic activity catalyses a dynamic job market, there is growing demand for educational options that will allow students to gain competitive edge. Never has focus on quality education from recognized providers been this pertinent, and it is in this context that GETEX is gathering the best academic options from education providers and universities,” commented Godinho.

GETEX 2006 hosted a record number of international exhibitors, and GETEX 2007 is expected to surpass its 2006 counterpart in exhibitor and visitor numbers, with 11 international pavilions offering a comprehensive array of education, vocational training and technology service providers.

“The 2007 show is hosting a number of first-time exhibitors in addition to a very high repeat percent to collectively offer its most comprehensive spectrum of pedagogical options yet. The show is an important instrument for matching individuals with appropriate academic programmes, allowing students to choose quality providers compatible with future vocations to become productive and responsible members of society and offers an excellent opportunity for international exhibitors to address regional requirements through tailored education options,” Godinho added.

Repeat exhibitor Sarah Ross, Programme Manager of the Lille School of Management, Paris, said, “GETEX Dubai 2006 helped us liaise with other institutions to arrange  collaborative study outside France, explore partnerships and alliances in the Middle East and establish market needs for in-country and out-of-country education. We are delighted to be a part of GETEX 2007 and are looking forward to a very rewarding participation.”

Aside from the education segment, GETEX also hosts exhibitors in two other distinct segments: Technology and Didactic Materials segment (Gulf Education & Training Equipment & Technology), which debuted in GETEX 2005, and the Corporate Training & Human Resource Development, which debuted last year. Last year’s edition also saw the first set of GETEX Concurrent Conferences, which gained tremendous support from the regional Academic & Corporate Training fraternity.

The Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) is the largest education fair in the Middle East region.
